Application scope of steel castings

1. Power station equipment
Power plant equipment is a high-tech product, and its main parts operate continuously for a long time under high load. Many parts in fossil-fuel power station and nuclear power plant equipment also need to withstand the corrosion of high temperature and high-pressure steam, so there are strict requirements for the reliability of parts. Steel castings can meet these requirements to the maximum extent and are widely used in power plant equipment.
2. Railway locomotives and vehicles
Some key components of locomotives and vehicles, such as wheels, side frames, bolsters, couplers, etc., are traditional steel castings.
3. Construction, construction machinery, and other vehicles
The working conditions of construction machinery and engineering machinery are very poor, and most parts are subjected to high loads or need to withstand impact wear. A large part of them are cast steel parts, such as driving wheels, load-bearing wheels, rocker arms, track shoes, etc. in the action system.
The excavator's bucket and teeth are also traditional high manganese steel castings. The operational parts of special off-road vehicles and heavy-duty trucks also use a lot of steel castings.
4. Mining equipment
To ensure operational safety, some key components of the well equipment are made of cast steel, such as the main components of the winch (crown wheel and mining car).
5. Forging and Metallurgical Equipment
The important parts of forging machinery, such as the frame, cross beam, frame, and the bearing seat of the rolling mill frame of metallurgical equipment, have always been cast steel parts. In addition, a considerable portion of the rollers of the steel rolling mill are also cast steel parts.
6. High pressure vessel equipment
The core parts of blowout preventers for oil and natural gas wellhead sealing are low alloy steel or martensite stainless steel castings, such as shells, heads, etc. Due to the pressure that these parts need to withstand up to 140MPa, it is necessary to ensure the surface and internal quality of the castings when casting these parts.
7. Ships
Many important components on large ships are also made of cast steel, such as the bow and stern columns, cat chains and conduits, rudder frames, cables, and mooring piles.
8. Agricultural machinery and tools
Some important load-bearing parts on agricultural machinery should be made of cast steel, such as plow brackets and plow pillars, driving sprockets, track shoes, support wheel guide wheels, drive wheels, etc.
