Basic knowledge in common methods of investment casting
Investment casting is a general term for a class of casting methods commonly used in the casting industry. It is a relatively advanced casting process. The precision castings produced are of high quality, and the shapes of products produced can be simple or complex. Especially some large and complex or small and complex precision castings are more suitable for precision casting.
Investment casting, metal mold casting, die casting, centrifugal casting and lost foam casting are commonly used in investment casting. Let's talk about the basic knowledge of these casting methods.
1. The application of precision casting will reasonably promote its hydraulic metal materials to fill the mold cavity, copy the mold cavity style, and enhance the precision of castings to prevent sand holes and insufficient pouring defects.
2. In the process of developing vacuum suction casting, its investment casting will reasonably put its mold shell into the vacuum casting box, and use the small gap in its mold shell to extract the gas in its mold cavity.
3. If the hot mold gravity casting is selected for investment casting, it is a kind of casting method that is used more frequently in the application link. After the mold shell is taken out of the baking furnace, the casting is carried out under high temperature.
4. For the directional crystals of investment casting, if the crystal structure of some investment casting parts, such as its magnetic steel and turbine engine impeller, is columnar crystals arranged at a certain angle, their working performance can be improved. Therefore, the investment casting directional crystal technology has developed rapidly.
5. The crystal under pressure of precision casting will be reasonably placed in the pressure tank for casting when it is used. After the commodity is completed, the pressure tank will be immediately closed. During the application, the tank will be filled with its high-pressure gas and inert gas, so that the castings will be solidified under pressure to increase the density of the castings.
