Gravity casting

For gravity casting, the casting wheel hub is formed by injecting aluminum liquid into the mold for cooling. Then, gravity casting is formed by cooling the aluminum liquid through its own gravity without any external force. Since the cost of gravity casting is too low, it can only be started with the corresponding mold, which is popular with some small factories. However, due to the changes in various environmental conditions and the low controllability of artificial casting, the quality of mass production is prone to defects, so it is an original technology that has long been eliminated by mainstream manufacturers.

Low pressure casting

Compared with gravity casting, the process of low-pressure casting is to let the aluminum liquid enter the mold from bottom to top under pressure, and let the aluminum liquid solidify and crystallize under pressure. The whole process is mechanized, so the process level is stable. In terms of cost, the cost of low pressure casting is higher than that of gravity casting. However, in order to ensure the safety of vehicles and drivers, most manufacturers will choose low pressure casting wheels.

Cast hub

Through the above separate introduction of the wheel hub manufacturing process, it is not difficult to see that low pressure casting has inherent advantages over gravity casting due to technical reasons:

1. Balance of wheel hub

The dynamic balance and roundness of the wheel hub are good. The dynamic balance performance of the inner and outer wheel diameters less than 30g is far lower than that of the traditional gravity casting method. The data of the traditional gravity casting method is 45g-60g or more. In this way, the driving is more stable.

2. Hub organization

The pressure is evenly transmitted to the wheel hub mold, which can make the internal organization of the wheel hub more compact and greatly improve the safety. Generally, traditional gravity casting does not have any pressure transmission, and the hub structure is relatively loose.

3. Strength of hub

Low pressure casting method adopts low pressure feeding to greatly increase the strength of the wheel hub, at least 30% more than that of gravity casting. All OEM aluminum wheels of major automobile factories at home and abroad are made by low pressure casting, which proves that the strength performance of traditional gravity casting is not stable.

4. Hub safety

The pressure conveying system of low pressure casting will not be affected by the environment and climate change, and products with safe and stable quality can be produced throughout the year. Generally, traditional gravity casting is vulnerable to the impact of climate, temperature and humidity, and the product quality is unstable.

From the above data, it is not difficult to see that the data performance of low pressure casting is superior to that of traditional gravity casting.
