What is the difference between precision casting and general casting

Precision castings are castings formed by pouring molten metal into a certain mold and through cold treatment. There are many casting processes for precision castings, including metal mold casting, pressure casting, investment casting, lost foam casting and V-process casting. The finished castings made by the precision casting process are relatively precise, and can be processed with little or no further processing at the later stage. At the same time, precision casting can complete the casting of castings with complex shape and thin thickness. It can not only cast small castings, but also cast large castings easily. From the current situation, the world's precision casting forming technology has developed rapidly and has a wide range of applications. In the future, the development trend of precision casting technology is that casting products are more and more close to parts products.
General castings are relatively rough compared with precision castings, and belong to the scope of forging. In general, casting is to rapidly fill molten metal into the casting solid model at a high rate under high pressure, and solidify it under pressure. Later, it still needs to be put into use after finishing. However, due to the effect of various external forces on the casting materials, the casting often deforms during the solidification process. General casting is generally applicable to castings with low requirements for geometric dimension tolerance and service performance of equipment machinery.
In fact, precision casting and general casting belong to two different casting methods. The main difference is reflected in the dimensional accuracy, surface finish and sales price, but the standard of precision casting is higher and the performance of casting parts is better.
